Michael talks about House of Lords Reform
   Transcript

Well, I’ve just spoken in the Chamber of the House of Commons on House of Lords reform. I had to wait for about three hours to get in. You can’t just speak when you want, the Speaker has to call you, but I eventually got in. A lot of members wanted to speak on this subject today and yesterday and this excites MPs tremendously. I’ve just spoken in favour of 100% elected members for House of Lords. I don’t think that any part of the House of Parliament should be anything other than elected, completely, by the people. You shouldn’t legislate for people unless the people have chosen you to do so. Anyway, there will be some votes very shortly, in about a hour, ten votes on this. Let’s see what happens when the House of Commons decides of the composition of the House of Lords.
