A419 Noise Barriers: the work is about to begin

MP Michael Wills welcomed the news that the preparatory work to build noise barriers along the A419 at Kingsdown and Covingham is to begin in the next few weeks.  Local residents living within approximately 50 meters of the proposed barrier have all been sent letters by the Highways Agency advising them of the clearance and ground investigation work that is about to be undertaken.

Michael Wills said “This is great news.  I have been campaigning to get these barriers built for many years and it has taken so long that residents could be forgiven for thinking that the barriers would never be built.  I have always been determined to ensure they were and I am sure residents will be pleased to receive confirmation that the work is at last going ahead.  This will make a real difference to the quality of their lives, as residents living in Lower Stratton, where the barrier has already been built, can attest.”
