I’m just off to a meeting on the future of the United Kingdom. One of the things that happens all the time in the Place of Westminster is lots of meetings where experts in their field come to talk to MP’s to give them better information about what’s happening in the world, on a whole range of subjects. I mean, from everyone from the health service to education, to the international situation. And today, we’re very lucky to have The Head of the Constitution Unit at the University College London and a leading pollster to come and give a talk on the future of the United Kingdom, something I’m very interested in. I think it’s very important to preserve the union. I think as a united kingdom we are much stronger together than we are apart. Obviously a lot of changes coming up. We’re coming up to Scottish elections, elections for the Welsh assembly. It’s a very important time for the future of the United Kingdom. So I’m just off to get better informed about public opinion on this and some of the constitutional applications of what’s happening. |
